What you need.

Start with what you already own. Buy only what's missing.

  • Kitchen screen

    Minimum
    Any tablet or computer with an up-to-date web browser.
    Best
    A Full HD touchscreen on a Windows PC with Chrome or Edge.

    Wider screens fit more tickets side by side.

  • Network

    Minimum
    Wi‑Fi that reaches the kitchen.
    Best
    A network cable (Ethernet) to the printer, with the screen on the same network. Never guest Wi‑Fi.

    If the internet goes out, the screen saves your taps and catches up when it's back.

  • Receipt printerOptional

    Minimum
    None. A screens-only kitchen is a real setup.
    Best
    An Epson or Star network printer from the kits below. It can print new orders on its own.

    USB and Bluetooth printers print only when staff tap Print.

  • Bump barOptional

    Minimum
    None. Tap tickets on the touchscreen.
    Best
    A USB bump bar. It plugs in like a keyboard, with no pairing.

    Small 8-key bars and USB number pads work too.

  • Menu TVOptional

    Minimum
    Any TV with HDMI, plus a small computer with an up-to-date browser.
    Best
    A Windows mini PC with Chrome behind the TV.

    Needs the Suavo Display add-on, $9.99 per location / month.

Suavo kitchen setup checklist

    Tip: Setup also names your kitchen station. That's the screen you pair next.

  2. 2. Power up and get online

    Plug in the screen, then join your main Wi‑Fi or plug in an Ethernet cable.

    Tip: Don't use guest Wi‑Fi. The printer and the screen must be on the same network.

  3. 3. Pair the kitchen screen

    Tap Generate setup code in Kitchen Display settings, then open suavollc.com/kitchen on the screen and type the 6 digits.

    Tip: Codes last 15 minutes and work once. Scanning the QR code does the same.

  4. 4. Plug in the printer

    Plug the printer into your router, then add it on the screen in Settings → Printers.

    Tip: Need its IP address? Hold the feed button while you turn the printer on.

  5. 5. Plug in the bump bar

    Plug the bump bar into a USB port, then press ? on the kitchen screen to see your keys.

    Tip: No pairing. For a small 8-key bar, pick Compact 8-key in Settings → Controls & Language.

  6. 6. Send a test ticket

    In your dashboard, tap Send test ticket. Then find it on the kitchen screen and tap Ready.

    Tip: It's clearly marked as practice, so there's nothing to cook.

  7. 7. Pair the menu TV (optional)

    On the TV's computer, open suavollc.com/menu-display, then type the code it shows into TV setup in Customer displays.

    Tip: Codes last 10 minutes. The TV switches to your menu once it's paired.

If something goes wrong.

  • The screen goes to sleep

    Keep the kitchen page open in front. It keeps the screen awake. Still going dark? Turn off sleep in your power settings.

  • The printer isn't found

    Check that it's on the same network as the screen, that HTTPS is on in the printer's settings, and that you allowed it once on this screen.

  • The Wi‑Fi drops

    The screen shows Offline, saves your taps and catches up when it's back. Happens a lot? Plug a network cable into the screen.

  • The pairing code expired

    Codes last 15 minutes and work once. Tap Generate setup code again in Kitchen Display settings.

  • The bump bar does nothing

    Close any open panel. Keys don't work while one is open. Then press ? to see which keys work.
